Job Description

MANAGER OF PHILANTHROPIC AND CORPORATE RELATIONS, Media Lab/Media Arts and Sciences (MAS), to manage assigned individual, foundation, and corporate donor and member relations.  Will manage meetings and data pertinent to these relationships, work closely with the director of development in setting and implementing strategy for philanthropic and sponsorship support for the Media Lab, monitor and analyze the progress of membership contracts to ensure satisfaction and health of relations for member companies, and work closely with assigned alumni of Media Arts & Sciences (MAS) to engage their philanthropic support for the Media Lab.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; two years of experience, preferably in a contemporary higher education fundraising environment; ability to develop and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the mission and culture of the Media Lab and MAS; ability to understand and convey complex research to audiences with various levels of technical expertise; comfortable with and effectiveness at public speaking; organizational awareness; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a diverse group of alumni and visitors of any status (company, academic, diplomatic, press, VIP, etc.) in person, in writing or via the telephone; ability to work with the diverse research, staff, and student populations in the lab; sound judgment with confidential information; familiarity with organizing events; and highly-level proficiency with email and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). PREFERRED:  knowledge of the Media Lab and MIT systems, particularly Advance.  Job #22922
